Welcome to the Bilsington Parish Council Website
The Village of Bilsington is a civil parish located within the Borough of Ashford located about 5 miles south of Ashford on the B2067 Hamstreet to Hythe Road North of the Royal Military Canal. The Parish covers an area of approximately 4.29 square miles.
About a quarter of the Parish is wooded, along most of the northern slopes leading up to the escarpment of the High Weald. The 2011 Census recorded a population of 284.
NOTICE OF VACANCY
IN OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR
PARISH OF BILSINGTON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
that a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.
If by 22 September, 2020 (14 days* after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill the said vacancy is made in writing to the Returning Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org or, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford, Kent TN23 1PL, by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancy, otherwise the vacancy will be filled by co-option.
If an election is called it will take place on 6th May 2021, in accordance with Regulation 6(1) of the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020.
